I'm a member of SOLN Southern Otway Landcare Network (Hordern Vale-Glenaire group) and have a 4 hectare property which has 2 pristine gullies, and what was a cleared ridge, at Glenaire. My haphazard planting of eucalypts, Grevilleas, lemon tree, Westringia, Lilium and euphorbias has competition from deer, rabbits, and wallabies, also wild hot northerlies, wet clay soils and salt laden southerlies.
In Essendon in 2001, I dug up the front lawn to create a "Federation Garden" which competes with oxalis.
The January trip to Mt. Buller blew me away and this October's plant table. WOW! Inspiring lovely people too.
